Coaching and High Performance Manager

Climbing Australia is seeking a qualified candidate for the role of coaching
and high-performance manager. A single position has been identified for the two
roles however, depending on applicants two separate roles may be created. This
is a volunteer position involving the management and development of the
Australian National Coaching Team.
Position
Description
Coaching Manager
- Oversee and develop Sport Climbing Australia
coaching program in all its aspects
- Coordinate the coaching team
- Working together with the National coaching
team to ensure Team members in each state are receiving the same level of
support in the lead up to International Competitions
- Maintaining good communication between SCA, the
team, the coaches and parents of the youth team
- Oversee material used for consistency
- Ensure consistency and communication from
National to State level
- Develop a framework for the development,
training and certification of climbing coaches in Australia
- Co-ordinate training sessions after each
state title in conjunction with SCA & state bodies (booking venues, find
coaches, advertise)
- As an extra the Coaching Manager can work with
the SCA to seek sponsorship and government support for the Australian Youth
Team and make sure the team meets its sponsorship requirements.
- Manages the coaching budget
High Performance Manager
- Develop programs to develop high potential
athletes
- Develop trackers with head coaches for
individual athletes
- Works with the team manager in the good
preparation of the World Youth Championships
- Identify potential high performers
- Manages the High-Performance budget
Position Requirements
- Excellent communication skills
- Project management skills
- Experience in high performance program
management
- Certification in coaching, sports science or
other related field is advantageous
- Working with children check
This is a two-year position. The
high-performance manager reports to the SCA Board.
