Jaime Wong - Vic - Youth B Female - Boulder & Lead
I was inspired to start climbing when I went to support my friend, Atako Nakamura (QLD), at the 2017 Youth Nationals that was held in Melbourne. I have since been climbing for 6 years and have loved every minute of it. My favourite discipline is Lead but I also find great joy in Boulder. Climbing appeals to me because it is challenging physically and mentally yet has a very welcoming and supportive culture. I climb at various gyms around Melbourne and definitely can't say no to an outdoor session in the Grampians or Arapiles. I am super stoked and honored to represent Australia at the World Youth Championship in August 2023; 9 year old me who almost came last at my first Youth Nationals in 2018 wouldn't have believed it is possible!
