The Tasmania Youth Boulder Series is a fun and friendly competition series for young climbers of all abilities. Whether you’re an experienced competition climber or you’ve never competed before, this series is a great opportunity to get involved, challenge yourself and experience competition climbing in a supportive environment.

The 2026–27 series will include three rounds held in Hobart, with the first two rounds run in a Boulder Jam format and the final round using a 5-on/5-off competition format.

Looking towards Nationals?

The Youth Boulder Series will form part of the selection pathway for the Tasmanian Youth Team attending the 2027 National Championships.

Climbers wishing to be considered for State Team selection will need to compete in the series, with points accumulated across the rounds and performances contributing to the selection process.

Please note: U19 climbers will not compete in the Youth Boulder Series Round 2 on 6 December. Instead, U19 athletes seeking State Team selection are expected to compete in the Open A category at the Open Boulder State Titles on 5 December.  For the purpose of Youth Series points, U19 athletes will be ranked against other U19 athletes competing in Open A only. Their ranking within this group will determine the points awarded for Round 2 of the Youth Boulder Series.
