Sport Climbing Australia Appointed Director Position

Location: Meetings via videoconference once every month

Remuneration: Voluntary Position

Sport Climbing Australia is seeking an appointed director to join our board.  This will be a skills based appointment and we are seeking applicants with experience in communications or public relations.  

Position Description

  • Meeting as a board for the development of the sport in Australia
  • Communication with member states, stakeholders, coaching team
  • Governance of the sport of climbing in Australia
  • Further develop the sport of climbing in all its aspects
  • Coordinate and sanction national and state events
  • Development of policies relating to events, selection and officials. 
  • Administration tasks relating to the running of SCA
  • Development of a communications strategy for the organisation

Skills and Experience Requirements

  • High level of motivation to develop the sport of climbing 
  • Strong communication skills
  • Qualifications and or experience in communication, marketing or PR preferable
  • Previous sporting board experience at a state or national level considered beneficial
  • Experience with other boards preferred
