Yossi Sundakov-Krumins - Youth A Male Boulder

What sparked your interest in climbing and how long have you been climbing?

I don’t know why I started climbing, almost 4 years ago I just had an urge to try it and I got hooked immediately. I was in the week after, then the week after, then I got my first pair of shoes and it just never stopped. I got into bouldering because I like the moves that you can try when you aren’t restrained by a rope especially the dynamic movement that comes with competition bouldering.

Your home gym is?

St Peters and 9 Degrees

What are you proud of achieving so far and what are your goals?

I am most proud of how I went in the 2015 boulder comps in general but especially the Queensland state competition. It was such an amazing event and one of my first times in opens. I made the finals and the crowd was amazing. I am really hoping to perform well in the international competitions by making semi-finals and maybe even finals one day.

Do you have any idols?

I could probably list a hundred climbers I look up to but most of all would have to be Sean McColl because he is a shorter climber like me and he still performs well in all 3 disciplines, and of course Shauna Coxsey because she can consistently do well, especially in the 2016 Boulder circuit.

Do you have any sponsors?

I am trained by First Ascent Climbing Coaching and I have come so far with the training I’ve been given.

Do you have a fun fact about yourself…

I love photography and I’ll have my camera with me just about anywhere I go just in case, and I love an interesting coordination dyno.
