State Organisations


In each state, one entity may be recognised as the controlling body responsible for ensuring the efficient administration of Sport Climbing in that State.

Sport Climbing Australia has developed and recognised state entities in 7 different states and territories:

  • Australian Capital Territory: SCNSW/ACT

  • New South Wales: SCNSW/ACT

    State Organisations work in collaboration with Sport Climbing Australia and all local partners (climbing facilities, government, media, sponsors...) to realise SCA objectives at a state level. State organisation board members meet once a month. Their objectives are to:
    • Work on behalf of Sport Climbing Australia at a state level
    • Communicate with members and local partners
    • Promote the SCA at a state level
    • Coordinate state events (regional events and official state competitions) - Support event organisers
    • Develop and support a State Climbing Team


    State Organisations work in the development of:
    • Coaches conferences
    • Route Setters' conferences
    • Training of officials for accreditation
    • Running training and instruction courses
